This document is the result of my frustration. I had to search a lot of different more or less informative webpages to get success compiling OPIE and my personal opie programs.
The document was first an extract of my webpage http://www.uv-ac.de/ipaqhelp.html with a special focus on opie development.
Today it is the basis for the new IPAQHelp page. The old one is and will not any more be supported. The OPIEDev page will be the new basis for handheld development.
Unlike IPAQhelp, opiedev focusses on one development source instead of confusing the user by several irrelevant items (relevant for other development sources, like e.g. gpe). Also I hope to provide a more structured document, which may be used as a reference book for opie development.
The document does not include hints for familiar installation or development. The familiar distribution is the base distribution for IPAQ and OpenZaurus. As we concentrate on OPIE development here, this is behind our focus. Check http://www.handhelds.org for more information.
I hope that this handbook is helpfull for all developers helping to get rid of the the Redmond OS. If you have questions / suggestions, let me know. I will try to include some information regarding your problems in this book.
