1. Introduction

This howto intends to be a help for openembedded users (developers) or them who want to be.

Because there is rapid change of openembedded technology and documentation always lacks large amounts, this howto tries to fill up the gaps, though it will never be actual.

Nevertheles, it describes my personell sight of view and the problems I ran in. As this might be common problems, they may help others as well.

  This wiki will be outdated soon, but still is a good info source. It deals with the "OLD" style OE using oemake and not bitbake. see here.
• Bitbake User Manual
  The bitbake user manual is a very short compendium, but good for a start. The side content is added now and then. So before asking the irc channel below, check the manual first. see here.
• OpenEmbedded Irc
  This is the official OE irc channel. Many people are there to help in case of questions. Before asking a question, ready the available docs. The server is named irc.freenode.org, the channel is #oe.
